*This will be the last blog post here on blogger, all the rest will be at this location, you can also get to it through our course site. I have posted this post in both places.**

I am really enjoying this course and the technology we are using in it. I felt as if I knew a lot about computers before and was very "tech savy" at the start of this course. I know now that while I still know quite a bit there is a TON of information I didn't know, and not only information but applications and whole technologies in themselves that I didn't know were available. Now that I know about all of them I am addicted. I am checking my RSS feeds constantly just hoping someone has updated, and I like the web site maker Weebly so much not only have I moved my Teaching/Technology blog here and merged it with my site but I have also made a separate personal website and started my own blog on it. I have done a lot more there than I have on this site so far, feel free to check it out at here. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that I have to be on the "pro" plan (the one you have to pay for) to add things like music and video to my site, But other than that it is sweet. I think basically I am trying to say if the rest of the semester continues being filled with technology this cool I may not have much of a life left ;)

Blog is moving

Hello all, I have decided to merge my blog with the website we are making by making the blog a separate page on the website I have created on Weebly, you may now find my updates at http://technoteach.weebly.com/teaching-merged-with-technology.html I apologize for any inconvenience. I will also update the main class page with this new location.

Expectations

One of my ideas for what to do as a teacher is to be the schools computer/technology teacher. I would like to start students at a young age typing and learning how to use basic programs so that these skills can be translated back to their classroom activities. I would really like it if this course could give me ideas for how to set up the program and work with the children as they learn the sheer extent that technology can help them with their work.

Technology and Me

I am a student/person who will use technology whenever i can for whatever aspect of my life I can, especially related to school assignments and presentations. For example I will always do the Power Point for group projects and do quite a detailed job using animations and other effects. I also use excel for things like keeping track of the standings within the NHL, and use microsoft outlook to handle most of my scheduling, and for all of my MSU e-mail. I come by this affinity with technology honestly as my Dad is a computer tech guy for multiple small buisnes' and do things from computer repair to setting up networks. I will often go to him with computer questions or problems.
